Colorado Cabin X 2

What could be better than spending time in the beautiful mountains of Colorado?  We went there twice last week.  First of all on Thursday we took the 4 wheelers out so they would be there when Jeremy and Heather and their friends came on Friday.  We ended up spending a few hours moving cows that had just been shipped there.  They needed to be taken from the corral to the pasture.  It was a lot of fun.

And then we went back on Sunday evening and had fun with Jeremy and Heather and Livvy and Cohen overnight and the next morning.

Time to go home:(  We all had fun!!!

Home away from home/Running with angels/Show Time Utah

As much as we love living in Blanding, it seems that we spend almost as much time in Utah Valley.  With 5 of our 7 kids and 9 of our 12 grandchildren living in Utah Valley and Salt Lake area, is seems that we are there about every other weekend.  Last weekend we were there to use our tickets that Marilyn and Matt had given us for a "Western Dinner/Show" at a theatre in Pleasant Grove.

Noelle had talked us into running a 5-K race Saturday morning at Thanksgiving Point.  It was the "Running with Angels" race.  And, yes we ran all the way and yes we finished.  It was a beautiful run through the gardens of Thanksgiving Point.

We got treats after the race!!!  Since Noelle was to the finish line before us, she shared her treat when we got there.
Noelle, Lexi, Marilyn, Candice & Jed  (this picture was taken before the race (that's why we don't look all sweaty and red faced yet).

And then on to the show that night.  It was a lot of fun.

The "Can-Can" dancers were recruited (or maybe I should say "coerced") from the audience.  Deco is  the one in the green shirt. Trent is the one with the long, curly hair.

The singers were a family group---a father and his five sons.  They were really good.

The weekend was complete with visits with the grandkids.  Sorry I didn't get pictures of all of them this time:(

A very special part of the weekend was when Jed gave Kolton and Lexi their Patriarchal Blessings.  They are the first two of our grandkids that have gotten their blessings from their grandpa----there are many more to come!!

"Only in Blanding" ---Part one

Blanding is the perfect place to live (for us).  It might not fit everyone's lifestyle but for us it is "easy going", low stress, fun & we like it.  Where else could you visit "Farm Days" and.....
see sheep & lambs and.......
bunnies and........
rope a wooden steer and.......
go on a field trip with your class and.........

pet a baby goat and........
go on a hay ride..........

hold baby chicks and ducks and...........
pose with a big ole hog and.........
play with a snake and...............
go on another hay ride with your cousins and..........
eat chocolate ice cream cones and............

get them all over your face and hands????

"Only in Blanding"........Part Two

"Only in Blanding.......
.....do you have horses in your backyard and then..........
ride them around in your yard!

And you can watch a machine pitch baseball game. "Good hit Carter".
Only in Blanding can you have a ward party at the park.........
....where everyone ends up on their hands & knees on the grass looking for a lost wedding ring!! (and yes, Jeremy R. is on his way to get a metal detector---the ring was not found)
And, Cortez Rec. Center is a short drive away!!!

Grandkids, puppies, horses, caterpillars, lizards!!!

This past week was a fun one at the "Lyman Zoo".  We were so lucky to have Olivia come and stay with us for the whole week.  She and Logan were very busy.  They had fun.  They played hard and they helped with the "chores".
Livvy feeding the fish
Livvy feeding the horses
We're all watching Carter's baseball game

These "little hunters" are trying to catch caterpillars and lizards with their nets.  They were successful with the caterpillars---not with the lizards:(
Reading to the caterpillars in the bucket.

Taking care of the puppies!!!

Jeremy came down to work on the Colorado cabin.  He brought Cohen along.  Livvy was so happy to see them!!!  She couldn't wait to show them her caterpillars!!!

The perfect ending to a very fun week........spending time at the cabin!!!!
