Another fun adventure with the family

The week following Easter seemed to be the perfect time to go on a family outing.  Marilyn, Jensen, (& friend Makadie) Oakley & Addi were still in town (it was their spring break) and we decided to spend the day in Moab.  Marilyn woke up sick and so we had to leave her in bed and Kristi, Heather, Stacy and I loaded up the kids and headed to Moab.  Our first stop was the Hole N"The Rock.  (And yes, we know the " is in the wrong side of the N.  That's the way is has always been for over 60 years!!)
The house is carved out of a rock and is amazing.

The main attraction for us was feeding the animals.

Logan had to get brave enough to "kiss" the camel.
And he finally did it!!

As did Camryn and a lot of the others!!

After feeding the animals we headed to the sand dunes and played for awhile.

The boys found some holes that someone had dug out.

Yup, that's Jensen's head sticking out of the sand!!

Even Mason got a "taste" of the sand!!

We had such a fun time and took about half of the sand hill home with us.
We returned home with some very dirty, sunburned kids.

Easter weekend with the family

On Easter weekend, our family can always be found having a picnic at Recapture Pockets.  It has been a favorite picnic spot for many years.
Addie & Livvy had to guard their food, as the dogs kept helping themselves!!

Freddie always enjoying hanging out with the family.

What could be better than hanging out with your cousins?

Palmer was sporting some pretty awesome glasses and enjoying hanging out with Uncle Josh!

After eating, there is always a fun Easter egg hunt for the kids.  The eggs are hidden in rocks, bushes and crevices.

There is always a lot of fun for everyone.  After a long day in the sun and the sand, everyone is ready to go home and get ready to celebrate the true meaning of Easter by remembering our Savior and His Atonement and His resurrection.  As we attend our church meetings on the Sunday of Easter weekend, we learn more about all that He did for us.

"Because Jesus Christ broke the bands of death, all of the children of Heavenly Father born into the world will be resurrected in a body that will never die" (President Henry B. Eyring).
