In November of 2016, our nephew, Trent Halliday (Mike's and Linda's son) was diagnosed with Melanoma. It was quite advanced and widespread and he needed immediate treatment. The treatments started and they were able to slow the melanoma. But the medical bills began to pile up. Trent and Tanya live in Gunnison, Utah. There became an effort in the community of Gunnison and the community of Blanding to raise money to help towards their expenses. The effort in Blanding included a bake sale, a gourmet hot dog dinner, and a quilt raffle. This all took place at the San Juan High-Gunnison High basketball game. It was very successful, raising around $10,000. Mike and Linda and Trent's and Tanya's kids were able to be in Blanding for this fundraiser.
