Lyman Girls Weekend (spa extravaganza)

A few years ago, Noelle started a new family tradition of having a girl's weekend once a year, where all the girls in the family get together (no boys allowed) for a few days of fun. This year our invitations said: "Come get pampered at our 3rd annual Lyman girls weekend (spa extravaganza), Feb. 24th-26th at Noelle and Scout's house!!

We came from near and far and met up at Noelle's house. Our first activity for our weekend of being pampered was for the "moms" to go to dinner at La Jolla Groves. The "daughters" stayed at Noelle's and had pizza & popcorn and watched a movie. The moms enjoyed a very delicious meal at La Jolla Groves. Yummy!!!!!

And then the real party began............spots were chosen, blankets were spread out and a movie was turned on.

After breakfast on Saturday morning, the days activities included, manicures and pedicures.......

CRAFTS!!!!!
and sewing skirts.

And of course, lots of food (topped off with this yummy chocolate fountain)!!!!!
And then it was time for our annual "girls weekend" auction. This year's auction included spa items such as: lotions, emery boards, sweet fragrances, etc. The hottest item of the night seemed to be "Wisps". Kristi was the lucky one to end up with this prize.
For those who don't know what wisps are, here is a definition: A disposable mini-toothbrush with a breath freshening bead that allow you to have a clean, fresh mouth with no water or rinsing!!
Once again, everyone spread out the blankets, put in a movie and were soon asleep.
After enjoying a delicious breakfast, everyone had to pack up and head home. We had an awesome girl's weekend. Thank you so much Noelle. Looking forward to our 4th annual next year.

4 Wheeler outings!!

We have had a few 4 Wheeler excursions this Fall and Winter that need to be documented. Sorry there are a million pictures but this post will cover 3 different outings.

The first one was to Arch Canyon. Jed & I and Jeremy & his kids (plus a friend of Livvy's) were the ones that had the fun that day!!

And then there was our excursion at Sand Hollow near St. George....(Jed was attending meetings there and part of one day was spent with others from the meetings on this fun ride!)

And in January we went to John's Canyon. There were petroglyphs and ruins and a lot of beautiful scenery. This canyon also has a ton of history that is very interesting but too much to include here.

Christmas in Blanding--Traditions

I love Christmas because......
....of the kid's programs at school!
.....and the family parties.....

......and the joy and excitement on the kid's faces. It is hard to wait for Christmas morning and so the kids get to open a present from Grandpa and & Grandma on Christmas Eve with their new jammies and this year they had puzzles and games and a new tortoise (yes, a real tortoise) that will be kept at Grandma's house to play with.
And, I love that we gather together on Christmas morning, before opening gifts, and read about the birth of the Savior!

And then we all head downstairs and.......................
the chaos begins!!!!!!

I love it and I love that we take time out of our busy lives to remember the birth of the Savior and all He did for us.
