Europe-May 24th-June 8th, 2008

Here is a short overview of our trip. Josh and I went with a group of French students from the High School. There were 7 students and 7 adults (4 mothers, Mr. Nielson-the teacher, his wife and his son-Kellan)
We arrived in Paris on Sunday, May 25th.
We then took a train to Caen, France (a city close to the English Channel).

On Monday, May 26th we went to Mont St.
Michele (an Abbey--looks like a castle-very beautiful!)

On Tuesday,
May 27th we went on a tour of the Normandy Beaches where the D-day
invasion took place---very touching, incredible. We also walked through the cemetery there.        Thousands of the service men who died are buried there.

Wednesday, May 28th-we returned to the cemetery and Normandy beaches
for a short time and then caught our train to Paris and
then changed trains and traveled to Lausanne, Switzerland.
Thursday, May 29th--Day in Switzerland (Lausanne and Bern)
Very, very beautiful!!!
Friday, May 30th--Traveled to Interlaken, Switzerland.
Train ride to the top of one of the Alps--Beautiful!

Saturday, May 31st--Boat ride (kind of like a cruise ship)
up the coast line of a great big lake--to "Chatteau Chillon" (a castle)

Sunday, June 1st--some of us attended church and then we all took
the train to Antibes, France
Monday, June 2nd--laundry in Antibes and then
we walked around Antibes. Beautiful city on the
 Mediterranean Sea--a stone wall
surrounds the city. Some of the kids played on the beach.
Tuesday, June 3rd--Train to St. Raphael, France. Beautiful, touristy city where Roman Black is serving his mission.
Some of our group saw him!! Train ride to Cannes, France---another very touristy city.
Wednesday, June 4th--day spent in Antibes just walking through the shops and the city. Train ride to Paris that night.

Thursday, June 5th--Paris: Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Champs Elysees, Boat ride down the Sein River.
Friday, June 6th--Paris: Museum D'Orsay, Louve (Mona Lisa, etc) Notre Dame, Hard Rock Cafe, "Sac
red Heart" (Sacre Couer)
Saturday, June 7th--Versailles, Eiffel tower at night
Sunday, June 8th--Breakfast in the park in Paris and then home to the USA. Our whole trip was amazing!!!!!! We had so much fun.
