We have some new additions to the Lyman Zoo. Ellie had puppies. After about 3 hrs of labor there were 4 puppies---3 boys & 1 girl--the last one being born about 6:00 PM. Now for the crazy part of the story: we got the towels and bedding changed and got the new mother and puppies settled for the night at about 9:30. This is a picture of Ellie with her 4 new puppies (one is under her chin).
This is what we woke up to in the morning. Ellie had surprised us with another tiny, black boy-born sometime in the night- hours after the last one had been born.
Ellie is now the proud mother of 5 puppies. Of course they are sooo cute. (They will be available for adoption in about 8 weeks---they are purebred Shih tzu)

Oh, cuteness!!!! Maddie would take one in a heartbeat! wish we lived closer!
Those are some cute puppies. I told all of my kids they are welcome to have pets when they are married!(lol) I am not as good or patient as all of you with animals. I barely have time to take care of my kids let alone pets! :) But I am so glad that there are people like you that do such a good job at it.
