The "fun" part of "Family Fun and Work Week"

After working hard with the canning and food storage project, we all went to the Colorado cabin for the Labor Day weekend.  All of our family came (15 adults, 11 kids & 8 dogs)!  We enjoyed the beautiful mountains.  We played hard and ate a lot!!  We thoroughly enjoyed having all of our family together.

This is the tent where Grandpa & Grandma (Jed
& Candice) slept at night and the grandkids played
during the day!
The four-wheelers were kept busy, being used
for fun and for transportation.

Everyone enjoyed the horses.

We visited the Ivins cabin (and the puppies) and
watched a competitive game of baseball.

Time was spent at the fishing reservoir.
The kids had fun with the "Grover Gang".

Watching for bear!!! (none were seen)

It rained on Sunday.  It was a "lazy day".  Everyone
just relaxed: read books, ate & ate & ate and played
games.

As we all headed home on Monday, we were kind of sad that the weekend was over.  It was so great to be together as a family, but we were all dirty and tired and ready to get home to warm water, showers and soft beds.

Candice, Thanks so much for everything. It was such a fun week! I am already excited for next summer. I know you probably had the most work but for what it's worth, I can't tell you enough how much I appreciated all you did. We love you tons!! (p.s. livvy sent you something in the mail-- could you send her a note back?? She has been talking about the mailman for days!)
