New York to Boston to Iceland--October 2018

We scheduled a crazy trip for the end of October, 2018.  We were to fly to  England and board a cruise ship in Southampton.  From there we cruised back to the United States.  We found out that the airline tickets to Iceland were significantly cheaper than to fly to England and so of course we had to fly to Iceland and spend a couple of days there and then fly to London.  Even with the extra days added on, we still saved money over flying to England and we had a great time seeing Iceland.  Those of us traveling in our group were:  Jed and I, Keith and DeAnn, Mike and Linda and Jim and Jeannie Derricott (Mike's and Linda's friends).  And, Jim Ivins, Keith's brother joined our group in Boston.

We flew to New York on a redeye flight on October 27th and then to Boston on October 28th.  We met up with Jim Ivins (Keith's brother) in Boston.

Since we weren't staying overnight in Boston, we didn't really have anywhere to leave our luggage while we toured around Boston.  We rented a van and crammed the 9 of us and our luggage into it and drove around Boston and saw the sites.

One of our favorite historical sites we visited was Bunker Hill.  It was very interesting and informative.

This stone plaque was at Lexington Battle Green, Lexington Massachusetts

And, of course we had to visit the Neptune Oyster Bar and Grill and have some
delicious Boston clam chowder.

It was time to fly to Iceland.

The next post will show some of the things we saw and did in Iceland!!
