Europe: Day 15, May 15, Switzerland

Not a great deal to report today.  Spent the day on the bus going north to Switzerland. We stopped in Lugano by Lugano Lake. Beautiful. We had lunch and gelato there.

Lugano is an exclusive resort area.   Exclusive is spelled expensive.  We actually stopped in Italy just before crossing into Switzerland to get something to eat when we got to Lugano.  Sara said it would cost a lot less than if we bought it in Lugano.  Lugano was beautiful and smelled like money.

We traveled through many tunnels including one ten mile long tunnel.  There are many, many bridges along with the tunnels. Even the bridges are beautiful, just like everything else in this area.

We are now in a very picturesque village, Seelisberg, on the mountainside above Lake Lucerne near the city of Lucerne. It is absolutely gorgeous. We have just returned from a walk and are waiting for dinner. The mountains here are very steep and completely covered by thick trees except for the highest peaks.

When mom and Josh came to France following Josh's graduation, they came to Lucerne for a day. They couldn't stop talking about the beauty of the area. Now I understand what they meant. It is hard to describe.
