Took a boat cruise on the Rhine river. Beautiful! Saw countless picturesque villages in the narrow and deep valley with occasional castles on the hillsides. Some castles were in disrepair and some were being used today. Some seemed to be private residences and at least one was a hotel and some, well, who knows?
Spent quite a bit of time on our bus and saw a lot of countryside. It is green and very beautiful. There are lots of rivers and water. If we could divert some to San Juan county, they wouldn't even miss it and we sure could use it.
Staying the night in a Schriesheim, Germany, a town outside of Heidelberg. Will explore Heidelberg tomorrow.
Our hotel room has the smallest shower I have ever seen Every room we have stayed in (all three so far) has had two twin beds next to each other. We have yet to see a double or larger sized bed. Must be a European thing.
