Europe: Day 17, May 17, Beaune & Appoigny France

We drove to France. On the way to Appoigny where we were to spend the night we stopped at Beaune for short walking tour. Bus drivers are required to stop every so often for a break, so we stop regularly. It doesn't seem to matter where we stop, there are historic buildings and village or city squares to see. Each seems to have a unique claim to fame. Beaune is home to the world's oldest hospital.  A tour was available for €6,00. We declined.

Instead we visited a public WC for €.50. Public restrooms almost always cost in Europe. Men and women often share them. When they are separate, there are sometimes women cleaning the men's rooms while men are in them. A little unnerving, but you do what you have to do.

We spent a little bit of free time walking around Beaune.

We saw these "Deco" stores in several places.  We didn't even know Deco owned stores in Europe :)

We are staying the night in Appoigny, France. On to Paris in the morning.
