Nicaragua Adventure, Day 6: Monkeys & Fishing

How many people go out for their morning jog and see monkeys??  WE did!!!  Kristi, Logan and I went for a little jog around the resort and this is what we saw along the way!!!!  There were three of them and they were awesome!!!  Kristi ran back to the villa to get our cameras and to get Camryn, Carter and Jeremy to come and see the monkeys.

After the monkey sighting, we were ready for our planned activity of the day.  Kristi had made arrangements for us to go fishing.  We were picked up on the shore by this little fishing boat.

We headed out into the ocean and were ready to fish.

We arrived at a beach area and our guides asked if we wanted to go snorkeling.  Who knew we were going snorkeling on this fishing trip?  I hadn't even worn a swim suit to go fishing.  The others had.  So they snorkeled and I took pictures.

And then they took us back out in the ocean a little ways and gave us fish lines with hooks and a weight on the bottom.  The line was wrapped around a block of wood.  They baited the hooks and we just let the hooks drop to the bottom  of the ocean.  They told us to pull it up a little bit and feel for tugs on the line.  We started feeling tugs right away.  Carter was the first one to pull up a fish.

I caught a fish that was quite big and really pretty.  You will see it better in the bucket of fish.

Logan and Kristi pulled in their line and had 2 fish at once.  Logan was pretty excited!!

Jeremy probably got the prize for the most unusual fish.

The big silver and yellow fish are the ones that Jeremy and I caught.

After we got back on shore, we went to Nacho Libre to eat.  They had awesome hamburgers; the kind you can barely get your mouth over.

And then we picked up our laundry that we had left at Mora's a couple of days ago.

And then back to Palermo, where we swam.

And Kristi had her Spanish lesson from Irlanda, her teacher.

And then the kids had their lessons from Irlanda.

Another fun day in Nicaragua!!!
